Sony Pictures Hacked #GOP As Hackers Might Be Connected To North Korea And China! Is There A Link Between The Hacks And The Film The Interview?

It is reported that Sony Pictures work on chalkboards in investigating a probable link to North Korea in the hack that took down their computer systems earlier this week. Particularly, based on Recode, the firm is looking at the possibility that hackers are connected to North Korea and might be operating in China.

There were also speculations that this could also be related to Sony Pictures' The Interview, an upcoming comedy film where James Franco and Seth Rogen are journalists working in CIA to kill North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un. The North Korean government called the attention of the company about the film, saying that it is an act of war, and warned a merciless and resolute response, if the movie was released. The movie was speculated to be altered digitally in post-production to eliminate particular North Korean military insignia, but the main story still the same.

An alleged hacker sent The Verge an email saying that someone identified as lena said the hackers worked with a Sony employee and their mission is to support equality. The hackers identify themselves as Guardians of Peace and used the #GOP hashtag, shut down all of Sony Pictures' computer systems, with an image of a glowing red skeleton and vague demands flashing on the screen. The hackers have warned Sony that they will release the firm's top secrets if they will not give their demands, which the group says Sony was already known. The deadline has past on Monday night, so far, nothing seems has been out.

A text file also read as, "These two files are the lists of secret data we have acquired from SPE," said the text in a file called readme.txt. "Anyone who needs the data, send an email titled "To the Guardians of Peace" to the following email addresses."

Whether or not it is related to the attack, The Interview is presently set of US release Christmas this year, December 25th.
