Which smartphone is worth the purchase? The Nokia Lumia 530 or the Motorola Moto G.

In terms of design and display, both smartphones have curved panels in addition to the rounded corners. However, the Nokia Lumia 530 comes with a much simpler design as compared to the Moto G’s dipping top in addition to speakers located on the right side of the phone’s camera.

The Motorola G looks taller and it’s slightly slimmer than the Nokia Lumia 530. It measures 129.9 mm by 65.9mm by 11.6 mm and it weighs 143 grams. Furthermore, the front panel of the Motorola model also features a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Lumia 530 is a bit shorter and lighter thanks to its measurements of 119.7 mm by 62.3 mm by 11.7 mm and a weighs 129 grams.

The Motorola G comes with a much bigger screen of 4.5 inches and it also features IPS LCD technology. Furthermore, this model comes with a screen resolution of 720 by 1280 pixels or 326 ppi.

The Nokia Lumia 530 comes with a smaller display size of 4 inches and a screen resolution of 245 ppi or 480 by 854 pixels. Even though the Lumia tries to keep pace with the ability of the LCD technology by availing the TFT technology, it has been outperforming when it comes to display size and quality.

In terms of hardware and OS, both smartphones run on a similar quad core processor that clocks a speed of 1.2 GHz. However, the reason why the Motorola Moto G performs better than the Nokia Lumia 530 is because the former comes with an improved chipset in the shape of Qualcomm MSM 8226 Snapdragon 400 and with this chip, users can be treated to better graphics (Adreno 305) in addition to a bigger RAM of 1 GB. On the other hand, the Lumia 530 features an older chipset in the shape of Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 in addition to Adreno 302 graphics and a lower RAM capacity of 512 MB.

For camera specs, both have 5MP resolutions on their rear cameras. In addition, these cameras offer a variety of features that include auto-focusing, LED flash, panorama and HDR. On the contrary, it is only the Moto G that comes with a front-facing camera of 1.3 MP and with this; you can be part of the trending selfies.

The Motorola Moto G comes in two variants; one with an internal memory of 8 GB and selling at $157,and another with a 16 GB at $180. The Nokia Lumia 530 a bit cheaper and cost $150.
