Which phablet is worth the purchase? We compare the iPhone 6 Plus and the Nexus 6 to see which is better.
In terms of design and display, the Nexus 6 has a matte plastic rear panel with an aluminum frame, which makes it feel premium, while the iPhone 6 Plus has an aluminum unibody design, being available in three variants of shades. However, the Apple phablet is more prone to scratches, but it weighs less than its rival: 172 grams compared to 184 grams. It’s also shorter and thinner, measuring 158.1×77.8×7.1 mm, compared to 159.2×82.3x10 mm.
The Nexus 6 has an AMOLED sized at 5.96 inches, which supports a higher resolution of 1440×2560 pixels, which results in a pixel density of 493ppi. The iPhone 6 Plus screen is 5.5 inches LED-backlit IPS LCD Retina HD display, which supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels with 401ppi.
For the hardware, both phablets are equipped with 64-bit processors, but the Nexus 6 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Krait 450 processor with a clock speed of 2.7GHz and features and Adreno 420 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The iPhone 6 Plus has an A8 dual core 1.4GHz Cyclone processor coupled with a M8 co-processor, PowerVR GX6450graphics and 1GB of RAM. For internal memories, both smartphones lack microSD card slots, and their capacities are 32 and 64GB on the Nexus 6, and 16, 64 and 128GB on the iPhone 6 Plus.
For battery and camera specs, both devices have built-in batteries are their capacities are 3220 mAh (Nexus 6) and 2915 mAh (iPhone 6 Plus) and both last 24 hours of talktime on 3G.
The Nexus 6 features a 16MP back camera with optical image stabilization, 4K video recording and an aperture of f/2.0, while the secondary camera is 2MP. The iPhone 6 Plus can’t record 4K videos but it has optical image stabilization and an aperture of f/2.2 on the 8MP back camera. As for the secondary camera, it’s only 1.2MP and record videos at 720p.
The Nexus 6 cost $898 dollars on Amazon.com, while the iPhone 6 Plus cost $749 (16GB), $849 (64GB) and $949 (128GB) in the Apple Store.
