Which Samsung device is the better purchase? The Galaxy Grand Prime or the Galaxy Grand 2.

In terms of display, the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime has a 5 inch display that uses the TFT technology. Its resolution is 540 x 960, while the pixel density is 220 ppi. The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 has a bigger screen that measures 5.25 inches, also uses theTFT technology, a 720 x 1280 resolution and a 280 ppi pixel density. Both handsets feature sensors for their screens, for light and proximity.

In terms of hardware and OS, the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 comes with a 1.2 GHz quad core processor branded Cortex A7. The chip supports 1.5 GB of RAM and uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, which comes with a Cortex A53 processing unit and the clock speed remains at 1.2 GHz.

The Galaxy Grand Prime takes the the lead in OS, due to the fact that it features Android KitKat. The Galaxy Grand 2 comes with Android jelly Bean.

In terms of battery and camer specs, both devices come with a battery unit that features a total capacity of 2600 mAh. The Galaxy Grand 2 has an 8 MP camera on the rear which uses a 3264 x 2448 resolution. The front facing camera has 1.9 MP, and the device is able to record 1080p video at 30fps. The Galaxy Grand Prime on the other hand, comes with an 8 MP camera on the back and a 5 MP camera on the front, outmatching the specs on the Grand 2. The Grand Prime is also capable of 1080p video recording at a frame rate of 30fps.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is around $240, while the Galaxy Grand 2 is in the same price range.
