Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jeremy Lin expressed his frustration over his up and down season with the squad as a doll bearing his likeness was being offered by retail giant Wal-Mart under the name of former teammate Carmelo Anthony.
Speaking to NBA courtside reporter Mark Medina, the player who was once dubbed as Linsanity said: "Knowing what I'm capable of and not being able to bring that to this team."
According to the Lakers Nation, Jeremy Lin wasn't quite given the same hype during the Linsanity era but he did come with "decent expectations."
When Steve Nash was ruled out for the season, Jeremy Lin was thrust to the starting lineup, but although "he has shown flashes, he has been unable to maintain a high level of play consistently."
Jeremy Lin actually improved his midrange game with Los Angeles Lakers as he posted better numbers across the board, said Hoops Habit.
"For shots over 10 feet when the defender is 4-to-6 feet away, he's shooting 62.5 percent. When he's truly wide open (defender more than 6 feet away), he's shooting 50 percent," it said, which means that Jeremy Lin is maximizing his time on the court playing off ball.
Meanwhile, NY Daily News pointed out a doll of Jeremy Lin being sold as Carmelo Anthony by Wal-Mart.
"Maybe it was an honest mistake," it said. "Maybe they were getting a little creative and hoping they could unload some old merch - Lin hasn't called the Garden home since 2012 - on some sisters or grandmas (or dads or uncles) who don't know the difference between Carmelo Anthony and his alter ego, Anthony Carmelo."
Jeremy Lin, otherwise known as Linsanity, averages 10.7 points, 4.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game this 2014 season. The scoring is slightly down for his career which stands at 11.7 points.
