Which smartphone is the better buy? We compare the iPhone 6 and the Oppo R5 to see which one is worth the purchase.

In terms of design and display, the Oppo R5 dimensions are 149 x 74 x 4.9 and has a 5.2 inch screen display, while the iPhone 6 measures 138 x 67 x 6.9. The R5's resolution is at 1080 x 1920 pixels and 423ppi, the iPhone 6 has a 4.7 inch screen display, with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels or 326ppi.

For the hardware and OS, the Oppo R5 has an octa core chipset, or two quad core processors. One of them is clocked at 1.5 GHz while the second one can go up to 1.0 GHz. It has a 2 GB RAM and it comes with 16 GB built in storage memory, but there is no slot for a microSD card. The iPhone 6 has a 64-bit chipset, dual core processor with maximum speed limit of 1.3 GHz, but the 64-bit chipset outperforms the octa core processor. The Apple device sports a 1GB RAM, and the memory options include 16, 64 and 128 GB.

The Oppo R5 is powered by an Android system, version 4.4 KitKat, while the iPhone 6 comes with iOS 8 installed, and is currently updated to the iOS 8.1.2 version.

For the battery and camera specs, the Oppo R5 has a 2000 mAh battery inside, which might not survive longer than one day. The iPhone 6 comes with an 1870 mAh battery, but has a smaller display, and operates on an OS which is a power consumption.

The R5 comes with a 13-MP sensor with LED flash on the back, and a 5-MP shooter on the front, while the iPhone 6 comes with just a 1.2-MP sensor on the front, and an 8-MP camera on the back.

Oppo R5 cost $400-450, while the iPhone 6 cost $650.
