For design and display, the Motorola Moto X 2014 weighs 144 grams and measures 140.8 x 72.4 x 10 mm. It has a 5.2 inch display that uses the AMOLED technology at a 1080 x 1920 resolution and a 424 ppi pixel density. Plus, it has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer for protection.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 measures 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm and weighs 145 grams. The display measures 5.1 inches and uses a resolution of 1080 x 1920 with a pixel density of 432 ppi, while the technology behind the screen is Super AMOLED. The smartphone also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

In terms of hardware, the Motorola Moto X 2014 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 and a quad core processing unit that has a 2.5 GHz clock speed, branded Krait 400. Also, there is the Adreno 330 graphics processor. The RAM capacity is 2 GB, while internal storage comes in 16 and 32 GB options, but there is no microSD card support is available.

The Galaxy S5 has a 16 MP shooter on the rear capable of recording at a 5312 x 1988 resolution. It has its standard face detection, LED flash, and other functions.

The Motorola Moto X 2014 cost $500, while the Samsung Galaxy S5 is about $520.
