Good news for MMORPG fans, The Elder Scrolls Online release date was officially confirmed by Zenimax. Could a free-to-play announcement follow suit?

As PSX Extreme reported, "In ZeniMax's holiday greeting, they confirmed that Elder Scrolls Online is in fact coming to consoles in 2015."

"They remind everyone that they've released 'five major updates and tons of improvements and fixes' for the PC version and next year, they'll roll out the Champion and Justice systems and 'launch on the PS4 and Xbox One.'"

Rumors have sparked about Bethesda and Zenimax's move to cancel subscription and just make the game free to play for everyone. However, despite being immensely discussed online, there has been no concrete details about the developers planning to move into that direction.

According to Air Herald, "There have been rumours regarding 'Elder Scrolls Online' model, fans predict it will become a free-to-play MMORPG since it recently released loyalty program to reward those that maintain their subscription for certain periods of time. This could indicate that Bethesda is having trouble holding onto its fans."

"However, Elder Scrolls Online has received many positive reviews and has a growing fan base. If fans are already happy with how the MMORPG turned out, they can expect more quality updates in the future."

"The Elder Scrolls Online" free to play release date rumors intensified following Bethesda's announcement of a loyalty program to incentivize paying subs of the game.

Apart from the The Elder Scrolls Online free to play release date rumors, fans of the MMORPG are still left hanging for the game's console version release date. The launch was originally slated for June 2014, but because of a few developmental hindrances, developers have to delay the release to an unknown 2015 date, leaving fans unsure if a console release will really push through.

However, with Zenimax's timely announcement of the 2015 release date, fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief that the highly anticipated Xbox One and PS4 versions will be officially launched next year.
