The newest James Bond 24 movie, "Spectre," has had some serious trouble before it finally proceeded with filming, reports claim.
For starters, filming was slightly delayed because of a script overhaul. Sam Mendes as well as studio executives thought it was a good idea to incorporate more wit and humor into the script, making the tone and feel of the new flick a tad less serious.
However, new reports claim that that might not be the only reason for the revisions. As Ecumenical News reported, "The hack that happened in the Sony system as a result of the movie, The Interview, leaked hundreds of e-mail exchanges between studio executives, producers, directors and actors. Exclusive scripts of upcoming movies also fell victim to the leak, and the next James Bond movie, 'Spectre,' is one of these films."
"The final act for Spectre was leaked, and in one e-mail conversation that was also leaked, it has been revealed that top Sony executives were not impressed with how the movie's ending was written. The e-mail also revealed that the writer responsible for the ending was fired because of it."
Wesbite Defamer released some email exchanges among MGM execs and the James Bond 24 production team. And while they reveal a lot about the beginnings of the upcoming film, it also says a lot about how unsatisfied the execs were with the movie's plot.
In one email MGM executive Jonathan Glickman expressed his dismay saying:
"For what it's worth, I think first 100 pages are fantastic. It's all downhill from there. You guys set me up for a let down on climax. So I was not surprised."
"Also, there needs to be some kind of a twist rather than a series of water chases with guns," Glickman added in a separate email.
It was just recently revealed that Daniel Craig will be working alongside Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Lea Seydoux, and Dave Bautista. Returning cast would include Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner and Ben Whishaw as Q.
It has also been revealed that James Bond's choice of vehicle for this film will be the new Aston Martin DB10.
James Bond 24 "Spectre" will hit the big screens on November 6, 2015.
