MBC's new Weds/Thurs drama "I Miss You" finally began telling its tale of first love won and lost.
The drama premiered on Wednesday night with the fatal first meeting of Han Jung Woo (Yeo Jin Goo) and Lee Soo Yeon (Kim So Hyun).
Han Jung Woo, who was returning from the US, met a girl named Lee Soo Yeon and introduces himself. Then confused, she asks him if he knows who she is. She was the infamous daughter of a murderer.
Having been shunned and avoided her whole life, Soo Yeon thought Jung Woo was curious. Touched by his approach, she even brought him an umbrella from her house, getting herself soaked in th rain in the process. He promises to return the next day and their story begins.
Though Jung Woo wasn't able to come to her house because of his grandfather's funeral, he finds her at school and realizes that other kids are bullying her for the reason that she is a murderer's daughter. He found himself cowering at her voice and when she sees this, she acts as if she doesn't know him.
Jung Woo gets beaten up by other kids during physical education and though she tries to help him, he doesn't let her and fights the kids. She hands him the umbrella and tells him that it's not her that killed anyone. Jung Woo asks her why she's being this way and now that he's given it back, she should just go her own way.
However, he comes back to find her, only to see that she is begging other people for forgiveness because of her father. She runs away from him but he finds her at a playground and says that he'd like to be friends with her.
The two younger actors reached out and touched the viewers with their emotional portrayals from their get go. Their chemistry has been proven in "The Moon Embracing the Sun" and the viewers have high expectations for the two of them.
