Which of these Nokia smartphones is the better purchase? The Lumia 535 or the Lumia 625.
In terms of design and display, both Nokia phones have rectangular form with rounded corners and curved edges, with a plastic back that is available in multiple color options such as the classic white and black colors, as well as green, blue, orange, gray and yellow. The Lumia 535 is slightly thinner than the older model, measuring 8.8 mm, compared to 9.2 mm, and has almost the same width as the Lumia 625 at 72.4 mm, being only 0.1 inch thicker, but taller at 140.2 mm and lighter at 146 mm. The Lumia 625 height is at 133.3 mm and weighs 159grams. It only has one SIM card, so if users are using two GSM networks, they better buy the Lumia 535.
The screen on the Nokia Lumia 535 is a bit larger at 5 inches and it’s made using IPS LCD technology with a resolution at 540×960 pixels with 220ppi. The Lumia 625 also has an IPS LCD screen measuring 4.7 inches, with 480×800 pixels and 199ppi.
For the hardware and OS, the Nokia Lumia 625 has a the dual-core 1.2GHz Krait processor which is backed by a Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon 400 chipset, an Adreno 305 GPU and 512MB of RAM, it’s a great device if used only for making and receiving phone calls, taking occasional photos or when playing simple games without complex graphics. The internal memory is 8GB, which can add 64GB and the OS is Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1, after being upgraded from WP 8.
The Lumia 535 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset, which supports a quad core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 processor, with Adreno 302 graphics and doubled the RAM capacity. The internal memory was retained at 8GB, but its capacity is increasable up to 128GB. It comes with the Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1.
For the camera specs, the rear camera didn't have significant changes, as it kept its resolution of 5MP and the same features such as autofocus, LED flash, geo tagging, but while the Lumia 625 was capable to record videos at 1080p@30fps, the Lumia 535 captures at 480p@30fps, but it compensates with the 5MP front camera, which beats the VGA snapper from the Lumia 625.
The Nokia Lumia 535 cost $133, while the Lumia 625 is at $200.
