The Elder Scrolls Online free to play and console release date reports suggest that Bethesda and Zenimax might finally go the FTP route following the cancellation of the game's 6-month subscription.
According to Master Herald, "Elder Scrolls Online removed its option for a six-month subscription. It is a change that the MMO developer and worldwide publisher has been very reluctant to talk about publicly, at the present. Since there is no solid jurisdiction regarding its removal, the fans are expecting that the game might be released with a free-to-play format in the near future."
No concrete reasons were offered for the developers' decision, but fans are speculating that it has something to do with Zenimax's preference for the 1-3 months subscription.
This move has only intensified rumors that a free-to-play structure is in order. Previous reports have already talked about the possibility, and has even likened TESO's could be FTP to that of another popular MMORPG- World of Warcraft.
According to Air Herald, "There have been rumours regarding 'Elder Scrolls Online' model, fans predict it will become a free-to-play MMORPG since it recently released loyalty program to reward those that maintain their subscription for certain periods of time. This could indicate that Bethesda is having trouble holding onto its fans."
"However, Elder Scrolls Online has received many positive reviews and has a growing fan base. If fans are already happy with how the MMORPG turned out, they can expect more quality updates in the future."
Meanwhile, other The Elder Scrolls Online free to play and console release date reports confirm the game's availability on Xbox One and PS4 by 2015.
According to International Business Times, "Developer Zenimax Online Studios has put to rest the rumours on the release of MMORPG game Elder Scrolls Online and has now announced that the game will be released in 2015. It added that the game will be coming on Xbox One and PS4 platforms."
"The post also revealed that Elder Scrolls Online will see the introduction of Champion and Justice Systems, these will be new additions to the game."
