Good news for Kingdom Hearts fans as the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date is NOT going to be this December 2015 and it would be on July 2015 if the reports and rumors are to be believed.

Previously, we have reported that the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date was pushed back to December 2015 due to Square Enix changing the game engine of Kingdom Hearts 3 to the Unreal Engine from their inhouse game engine but it seems that the change won't be that drastic and Kingdom Hearts 3 would be released earlier than December 2015.

Cyberland has reported that during CES 2015, a Square Enix representative allegedly told reporters that the December 2015 release date of Kingdom Hearts 3 are just baseless rumors. The spokesperson also revealed that Kingdom Hearts 3's progress has been remarkable and gamers should expect that KH3 would be the best game in the franchise.

The report of Cyberland also notes that the leaked Sony documents allegedly mentions the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date to be on July 2015, and that the document was made well after the game engine change of Kingdom Hearts 3.

Kingdom Hearts project head Tetsuya Nomura even admitted that while there were some issues with the engine, the development of Kingdom Hearts 3 would as steady as ever.

In an interview with Famitsu, Nomura explained that:

"Development is steadily proceeding as planned. Due to the impact of changing the game engine to Unreal Engine 4, which we did for various reasons, there is some difficulty rendering images. And with the full support of Epic Games, we'll be able to progress smoothly."
