Louis Tomlinson has had enough of the negative "The Voice" promos which portray rival show "The X Factor" in a negative light. The One Directioner, an alum of the Simon Cowell headed series, went on the defensive on Twitter this Tuesday to bite back about the snarky attack spearheaded by new coach Rita Ora.
"Is bad mouthing The X Factor the only way The Voice knows how to promo their show ? #everyyear," posted Tomlinson on his personal Twitter account.
The 1D singer remains very close to the show that shot him and his band to international fame. Last year, the boy band member lent his talents to the series as an advisor. In addition, he was vocal about his support for several contestants on Twitter, encouraging fans to watch the show and vote.
"It's like Accrington Stanley trying to compete with Real Madrid ...." added Louis, comparing "The Voice" and "The X Factor" to fourth tier British football team Accrington Stanley playing European club champions Real Madrid.
The scathing comments come after Rita Ora repeatedly slammed "The X Factor" in a press conference promoting "The Voice," claiming that her show further emphasized talent.
"We're definitely more entertaining as individuals! And the singers are better. And to answer bluntly, it's about music. It's a good show, a great formula, and there's no illusions," said Ora according to The Daily Mail.
"I don't know how X Factor works, I was only there as a guest judge for a day. But I watched The Voice a lot, I respected how it came across on TV and I love the freedom we get as coaches to do what we want," added the new "The Voice" coach.
