Could this observation be an accurate Half Life 3 release date prediction?
Gamers on a Reddit forum started speculating that the anticipated 3rd installment will be out in 1.3 billion years in Valve Time. But, one comment actually had a pretty mind-blowing speculation. Sproutedonthenumber9 noted, "Actually if you look at the half life of half life, HL1 came out in '98, HL2 in 2004, which is 6 years, so HL3 should be in 12 years, or 2016. 12 years is also the Half Life of Tritium, also known as H3."
Fans of the hit video game franchise still continue to speculate Half Life 3's release despite Valve's statement that nothing is being developed as of the moment. As a matter of fact, they are only considering making the highly anticipated third installment because of the fans clamouring for the new game.
As Motoring Crunch reported, "When questioned about the game, Gabe simply says that he was surprised by the anticipation showed by the fans on Half Life 3. Gabe then concluded the Half Life subject by saying that Half Life 3 won't be released anytime soon as it is not being developed. However, due to the strong interest by the fans, Gabe admitted that the game is possible for production in the future."
Newell's answer should be a wake-up call to fans of the franchise. Should the game materialize, it won't be anytime soon.
It was previously reported that Swedish video game store Webhallen announced the Half Life 3 release date on their website, stating a 2015 launch.
As Master Herald reported, "Half-Life 3 may exist. Whether it's true or not, this is being suggested by Swedish Videogame Store Webhallen, where recently a brand new retail listing has been found. According to the information provided in the barebones product page, it seems that we may get to experience a 2015 release for the PC platform."
"Webhallen is a relatively popular games retailer. As a result of which this newly released rumor could still be genuine. From 2005-2013, the entire chain was owned by Amazon itself. Till date, it consists of nine different Swedish stores along with a well-referenced online marketplace."
"Although this sounds quite in reference to places like GameStop in the U.S, it is still a well-managed distribution channel for Sweden. Swedish Gamers surely trust the branding of 'Webhallen'. However, it remains to be seen whether the rest of the world should."
Despite the rumored 2015 release date, no confirmation has been made regarding the leaked information from Webhallen.
