The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4.70 design has a broad surface and smoothly curved edges. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Redmi Note has a bar shaped design with a large length, and a narrow width. It has a glossy black colored front panel with just three soft-touch buttons on the lower portion. According to GSMArena, the Xiaomi's dimensions are 154 x 78.7 x 9.5 mm, and weighs 199 grams, making it lighter of the two. Its display is a IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen at 5.5 inches. It can render a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels at 267 ppi. Plus, its protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4.70 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor with a Marvell PXA1088 chipset. It has an internal memory of 8GB, and 16GB RAM, with an additional 1GB RAM. But, users can put a microSD card to reach 32GB. The Samung device operates on the Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat).

The Xiaomi Redmi Note is equipped with a 1.7 GHz Octa Core processor with a Mediatek MT6592 chipset. Its internal memory is at 8GB, and can also be equipped with an microSD card to reach 32GB. It runs on the Android OS, v4.2 (Jelly Bean).

GSMArena stated that the Xiaomi Redmi Note has an impressive 13MP primary camera, and a secondary camera at 5MP. It features autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, and HDR. It has two sets of Li-Po battery: a 3100 mAh and a 3200 mAh.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4.70 has a primary camera of 3.15 MP, and a secondary camera is only 1.3 MP. It has a mon-removable Li-Po battery at 4000 mAh, which last 10 hours on talktime.

The Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 16 GB version cost $237.99, while the Xiaomi Redmi Note is around $161.
