"The Originals" is renewed for one more season, according to TV Line!
This news comes with the The CW's decision to give seven other shows the go signal for another season.
The CW approved one more year for "Arrow," "Reign," "Supernatural," "The 100," "The Flash," "Jane The Virgin," and "The Vampire Diaries."
In season one of the supernatural series, fans mourned for Claire Holt's decision to take a break from playing the thousand-year-old vampire, Rebekah Mikaelson. She reportedly wanted to spend more time with her family and loved ones.
Thankfully, she came back for two episodes in season two, giving Rebekah a chance to help take down the Mikaelsons' crazed witch mother once and for all. This also put her in danger, forcing her soul to leave her original, vampiric body and move into a young teen witch.
Executive producer Michael Narducci recently promised a "satisfying conclusion" to the body swap.
He told Hollywood Reporter that although Rebekkah is "in a very dangerous place, trapped in a body that is all too vulnerable and mortal" she will be using her "wits and her strength of character" to stay alive.
Suffice it to say, viewers will be seeing more of the young witch (portrayed by Maisie Richardson-Sellers) as Rebekkah for the rest of season two instead of Claire Holt.
Now that "The Originals" has been renewed for season three, however, will Claire Holt come back to the show for the fall 2015 comeback?
"There's absolutely the possibility she would return," the EP shared. "We definitely want to continue to use Claire. We absolutely will use her in flashbacks in the way we've continued to use Nathaniel Buzolic in flashbacks, even though in the present day, Kol is in another body."
Narducci definitely doesn't "think - or hope - we've seen the last of Claire Holt."
With "The Originals" getting renewed for another season, what kind of danger do you think will Klaus and his family and frenemies face?
