We compare the Galaxy Alpha and the Galaxy A7 to see which Samsung smartphone is the better purchase for consumers!
According to the Fuse Joplin, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha looks lighter due to its plastic body with aluminum features, as the Galaxy A7 body is wrapped around an aluminum unibody, which makes it elegant and sophisticated to look at. The Galaxy Alpha has a 4.7 inch Super AMOLED display, with a resolution 720 x 1280 pixels at 312 ppi, and its protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Its dimensions are 132.4 x 65.5 x 6.7 mm, and it weighs 115 grams.
The Galaxy A7 has also a Super AMOLED display, but its bigger at 5.5 inches, and renders a better resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at 401ppi pixel density. Its dimensions are 151 x 76.2 x 6.3 mm, and weighs heavier at 141 grams.
The website also stated that both Samsung devices have the same octa core processor called the Exynos 5. They are clocked at 1.3 GHz, and have 2 GB of RAM. The difference however, is the internal memory with the Galaxy Alpha at 32 GB, while the 16 GB memory can be expanded at 64 GB with a microSD card. The Galaxy Alpha runs on the Android OS, v4.4.4 (KitKat), upgradable to the v5.0 (Lollipop) version, while the Galaxy A7 has a Android OS, v4.4.x (KitKat)
In terms of battery and camera specs, the Galaxy Alpha has a 12 MP primary shooter, a 2.1 MP secondary camera, and features such as dual camera, geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama, HDR etc. Its battery is Li-Ion at 1860 mAh, and can last up to 11 hours in 3G.
The Galaxy A7 on the other hand, has a 13 MP primary camera, with features such as geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama,HDR etc, and a secondary camera at 5MP. Its has a non-removable Li-Ion battery at 2600 mAh capacity.
The SIM free variant of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is at $600, while the Samsung Galaxy A7 is worth $700 in the market.
