We compare the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and the Motorola Moto G 2014 to see which of these smartphones is better.
According to the FuseJoplin, both smartphones are made up of polycarbonate material, and very similar to their counterparts. The new version of Moto G has a dimple below the rear camera with the M logo in the middle, a small dip from the top, and the front panel has two horizontal bars. It has a IPS LCD screen at 5.0 inches, with a rendered resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels at 294 ppi. Its dimensions are 141.5 x 70.7 x 11 mm, weighs around 149 grams, and has the Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini has a plastic build with perforated dots on the back. It has IP67 certification for dust and water and features the fingerprint scanner. The S5 has a Super AMOLED display at 4.5 inches, with can render a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels at 26 ppi. Its dimensions are 131.1 x 64.8 x 9.1 mm, and weighs 120 grams.
The website further adds, that both smartphones have quad core Cortex A7 processors, but the Moto G 2014 has a weaker CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, based on a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset and it’s paired with Adreno 305 graphics and 1GB of RAM. It has 8GB of internal storage, which can increase at 32GB with a microSD card. The Motorola device runs Android OS, v4.4.4 (KitKat), upgradable to v5.0 (Lollipop).
The S5 Mini on the other hand, has Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A7, with a Exynos 3 Quad 3470 chipset and the Mali-400MP4 GPU. Its internal memory is at 16GB, and a RAM capacity of 1.5GB, but it can increase at 64GB with an microSD card. It runs on the Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat), with a possible upgrade of the v5.0 (Lollipop).
Both devices have 8MP cameras, but the Moto G 2014 has a secondary shooter of 2MP, while the Galaxy S5 Mini is at 2MP. The Moto G's battery is a non-removable Li-Ion at 2070 mAh, while the S5 Mini has Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery has 10 hours in 3G.
According to Amazon.com, the Moto G 2014 is around $180, while the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini cost $410.
