We compare the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 against the Micromax Canvas Turbo to know which smartphone is worth the purchase.
According to the Fuse Joplin, the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 has the same design as the rest of the Samsung phones. It has a plastic back with faux leather patter and fake stitching, and it has the same oval home button surrounded by two capacitive buttons. The difference however is that it has floating arc design. The Micromax Canvas Turbo looks like an HTC smartphone with its aluminum frame on its back, and two thin horizontal strips, but lacks the dual front facing speakers.
The Galaxy Grand 2 has 5.25 inch TFT display that can render 720 x 1280 pixels resolution at 280 ppi pixel density. Its dimensions are 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9 mm, and weighs around 163 grams. The Canvas Turbo on the other hands, has a 5 inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and 441ppi.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 has quad-core processor clocked 1.2 GHz, being powered by a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400, and Adreno 305 GPU. It is equipped with a 8GB of internal memory, that can expand up to 64GB with a microSD card. It has 1.5GB of RAM, and runs on the Android OS, v4.3 (Jelly Bean), which can be upgraded at v4.4.2 (KitKat).
The Micromax Canvas Turbo on the other hand, is equipped with a 1.5 GHz processor, partnered with a Mediatek MT6589T chipset, and a PowerVR SGX544MP2 for graphics. It has 2GB f RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, and runs on the Android OS, v4.2.1 (Jelly Bean).
According to the specs from GSMArena, the Micromax Canvas Turbo trumps the Galaxy Grand 2 when it comes to cameras. The Micromax device has a 13MP primary, and 5MP secondary cameras, while the Galaxy Grand 2 has a 8MP primary, and 1.9MP secondary cameras. However, the Samsung device beats the Micromax handset in terms of battery capacity as the Grand 2 is at 2600 mAh, while the Canvas Turbo is at 2000 mAh.
Amazon.com stated that the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is worth $330, while the Micromax Canvas Turbo is at $150 on mysmartprice.com.
