We compare the Motorola Moto X2 against the HTC One M8 to see which of these smartphones is better.

The Moto X2 has a bigger screen at 5.2 and its AMOLED screen can render a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at 424 ppi pixel density. Meanwhile, the HTC One M8 is equipped with 5 inch Super LCD3 that renders the same resolution, but with a better pixel density at 441 ppi. The Motorola handset has the following dimensions of 140.8 x 72.4 x 10 mm, and weighs around 144 grams, while the HTC One M8 weighs heavier at 160 grams, and its dimensions of 146.4 x 70.6 x 9.4 mm. Both smartphones are protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

For the hardware and OS, the GSMArena stated that the Moto X2 is equipped with a quad-core processor clocked at 2.5 GHz, with a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset, while the HTC One M8 processor has two variants at 2.3 GHz and 2.5 GHz, which are powered by a Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801. Both smartphones have Adreno 330 GPUs for graphics.

The Moto X2 has a RAM capacity of 2GB, and its internal memory is at 16/32GB, while the HTC One M8 has 2GB of RAM with the same internal memory as its rival, but it can expand up to 128GB thanks to a microSD card. The Motorola handset runs on the Android OS, v4.4.4 (KitKat), while the HTC smartphone runs on Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat). Both softwares will receive the v5.0 (Lollipop) upgrade soon.

According to GSMArena, The Moto X2 is equipped with a 13MP rear camera, while its front camera is at 2MP. The HTC One M8 on the other hand, has a 4MP dual camera, while the rear shooter is bigger than its rival at 5MP.

The HTC handset has a bigger battery at 2600 mAh capacity, which can last up to 20 hours of talktime, while the Moto X2 is at 2300 mAh.

The Motorola Moto X2 cost around $180 according to TheFuseJoplin, while the HTC One M8 is around $700.
