We compare the Sony Xperia Z2 against the HTC One Mini 2 to see which smartphone is the better purchase.

According to TheFuseJoplin, the Sony Xperia Z2 is comprised of rounded corners and its made up of both glass and metal. Its IP58 certified which makes it dust and water proof, and it has a camera shutter and lock/unlock key on the side. Its screen is a 5.2 inch IPS LCD that can render a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at 424 ppi pixel density. Its dimensions are 146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2 mm, weighs around 163 grams, and has a shatter proof glass for protection.

The HTC One Mini 2 has a more boxy design, and its entire body is made from metal materials. It has smaller screen measuring 4.5 inches and its Super LCD2 can render a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels at 326 ppi pixel density. The HTC smartphone is lighter in weight at 137 grams, has the following dimensions of 137.4 x 65 x 10.6 mm, and its protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Both smartphones have quad-core processors, but the HTC One Mini 2 is clocked at 1.2 GHz, while the Sony Xperia Z2 is at 2.3 GHz. The HTC smartphone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset and an Adreno 305, while the Sony handset has a Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801 chispet and a better Adreno 330 GPU. The Sony handset has a bigger RAM capacity at 3GB compare to the 1 GB of the HTC smartphone, however, they both have 16GB internal memories that can expand up to 128 and they run on the Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat) software, planned to be upgraded to the v5.0 (Lollipop).

The Sony Xperia Z2 has a better rear camera of 20.7MP, while the HTC One Mini 2 is at 13MP. But the HTC smartphone has a better front camera at 5MP compare to the 1.2MP shooter of the Sony handset. Both have non-removable batteries but the Sony handset's battery can last up to 19 hours, while the HTC handset can last 16 hour and 30 mins.

The HTC One Mini 2 price range is around $400, while the Sony Xperia Z2 is $50 more expensive.
