We compare the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 vs the Asus Zenfone 5 to see which smartphone is the better choice.

According to the Fone Arena, the Samung Galaxy Grand 2 display is a 5.25 TFT screen that can render 720 x 1280 pixels with 280 ppi. It weighs around 163 grams and has the dimensions of 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9 mm. The Asus Zenfone 5 is equipped with 5 inch IPS screen with the same resolution as the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 but its pixel density is bigger at 294 ppi. Its dimensions are 148.2 x 72.8 x 5.5 mm, and it is lighter than the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 at 145 grams.

The Asus Zenfone 5 has two sets chipsets with dual processors. It is powered by an Intel Atom Z2580 at 2 GHz,with 1GB of RAM and an Intel Atom Z2560 clocked at 1 GHz with 2 GB of RAM.They have two sets of internal memory at 8 and 16GB but could be expanded up to 64GB via memory card. The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is powered by a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor, running on a Snapdragon 400 chipset with an Adreno 305 GPU for graphics. Its RAM is 1.5GB and it has an internal memory of 8GB that is expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card. Both smartphones run on the Android OS, v4.3 Jelly Bean but they could be upgraded to the v4.4.2 KitKat.

Both the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 and the Asus Zenfone 5 have 8MP rear cameras but the front camera of the Asus Zenfone 5 is 2MP while the Galaxy Grand 2 is 1.9MP. The Asus Zenfone 5 has a non-removable Li-Po 2110 mAh battery which lasts 18 hours and 30 mins on 3G while the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 has a 2600 mAh battery that could last 17 hours.

The Fone Arena confirms that the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 costs $511 while the Asus Zenfone 5 costs around $222.
