"American Horror Story: Freak Show" star Ben Woolf, 34, passed away, after being struck by a passing vehicle's mirror.
Ben Woolf, who was best known for his role of Meep on "American Horror Story: Freak Show," passed away on Feb. 23, his rep confirmed the sad news on Twitter on the same day.
According to NY Daily News, the actor's family thanked everyone for the support during this difficult time.
Woolf's family said in the statement that they have been moved by the immense love and support they have got from the entire world. The actor's family stated that he touched many hearts in his 34 years and his memory will live on within them and his work.
While crossing the street on Hollywood Boulevard Thursday, Feb. 19 evening, Ben was struck in the head by a side-view mirror of a car, the police said. The driver would not face prosecution because Woolf was "jaywalking," an offence in the U.S. for pedestrians who do not use crossings or give way to drivers, police added.
Woolf's rep told the DailyNews over the weekend that he was in critical but stable condition. However, it appears things took a turn for the worse. According to Time, the Los Angeles medical examiner says an autopsy confirming the cause of death is still pending.
Although the beloved actor passed away, he is not forgotten.
According to HollywoodLife, "RIP Meep" was trending on Twitter Feb. 23 as devastated fans took to Twitter to mourn the actor.
Alessandra Torresani, who co-starred with Woolf on "American Horror Story," and other famous fans, expressed their sorrow over losing the actor.
Woolf has played two characters in "American Horror Story," and it has been renewed for a fifth series citing its success. Woolf portrayed Infantata in the first season and in the recent series, "Freak Show," he played Meep.
