Microsoft has unveiled the Microsoft Lumia 640 and its larger version at the Mobile World Congress event.

The GSM Arena reported that Microsoft had unveiled that Lumia 640 as well the larger Microsoft Lumia 640 XL.

As for the Microsoft Lumia 640 specs, the device is bigger and had a better screen than other 6-series devices. It has a 5-inch IPS display with a 720 pixels resolution and a 294 ppi. The said device had a Gorilla Glass 3 protection against scratches.

Under the hood, the Microsoft Lumia 640 runs on a Snapdragon 400 chipset quad-core Cortex-A7 clocked at 1.2 GHz. It has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB via memory card with a 2,500 mAh battery.

In terms of the camera, Lumia 640 has an 8 MP camera at the back and a 1MP selfie camera. It has 1080p video at 30fps at the back while 720p for its front snapper. The camera has LED flash and other photography features.

The Microsoft Lumia 640 release date is set in April2015 and will be available in a variety of colors including Cyan, Black, Orange and White.

Furthermore, the Microsoft Lumia 640 price for the 3G version will cost €140, while the LTE version will be €160.

On the other hand, the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL comes with 5.7-inch screen, with an IPS LCD display and a 720p resolution, 259 ppi with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and ClearBlack tech.

According to Phone Arena, the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL runs on Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.2 GHz system chip, with 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 128 GB through a memory card. The handset has a 13MP camera at the back and 5MP front-facing camera.

Microsoft Lumia 640 XL is priced at €190 for the 3G version and €220 for the 4G LTE version. There is also a dual-SIM and single SIM version of the device including a 4G dual-SIM.

Meanwhile, both smartphones will launch in Windows Phone 8.1 with the promise to get upgraded to Windows 10.
