The Oppo had announced that the sapphire-glass-back Oppo R1C, which was first offered in China, will soon be available worldwide in April under the name Oppo R1x, the Phanroid reported.
The device is made up of a high standard and has the same high-strength CNC frame like the R5. It has 6.85mm and weighs 130 grams.
The site added that the Oppo R1x will be available for mid to late April and will be available in two colors, ice white and sapphire blue.
Furthermore, according to GSM Arena, the distinct feature of the Oppo R1x is the "eye-catching sapphire-faceted back panel" and the said color effects on the device are gained through a UV embossing of the layer beneath the glass, which create areas with different light-reflective capabilities.
As for the specs, the Oppo R1C and R1x are identical, except for supporting GSM networks. The Oppo R1x has 5.1-inch Pixel Eye HD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 and a ppi of 294.
The smartphone runs on Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 processor with four Cortex-A53 CPU cores, which is clocked at 1.7 GHz and another four at 1.0 GHz with an Adreno 405 GPU.
In terms of storage and memory, the Oppo R1x has 2 GB of RAM with a 16 GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB via MicroSD card. The handset will come with Oppo's own custom operating system, the Color OS 2.0.1 which is built on Android 4.4. KitKat.
Moreover, the device has a 13MP camera at the back and a 5MP front camera, which has LED flash, Geo tagging, high dynamic range mode, touch focus, face or smile detection and other photography features.
The Oppo R1x has a 2,420 mAh battery that can last up to 250 hours when stand-by while up to eight hours talk time.
Meanwhile, as of this writing, the Chinese electronics manufacturer has not yet released any information about the official price of Oppo R1x. The Phanroid wrote that it might be around $400.
