HTC has revamped its 2014 flagship, the One M8, with a new chipset and camera and named it HTC One M8s, writes GSM Arena.
The HTC One M8s SIM-free is set to launch first in the UK for £380, which is roughly $564. This model is cheaper than the HTC One M8 that was launched at £579.
However, as of this writing, the release will be limited to Europe while exact regions and release dates have not yet been confirmed by the company. Furthermore, as for the specs and features, according to Pocket-lint, the HTC One M8s and M8 have the same design, which means it features a full metal unibody and colors gunmetal grey, gold and silver.
The HTC One M8s is slightly larger than the One M8, it has 146.41 x 70.61 x 9.55mm, while M8 has 146.36 x 70.6 x 9.35mm. When it comes to display, both models have the same size and resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 440 ppi. Under the hood, the HTC One M8s is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. The One M8 runs on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with 2GB of RAM.
As for the software, the One M8s launches with Android 5 Lollipop and HTC Sense 6 while the One M8 originally launched on KitKat, but has already been updated to Lollipop. In terms of camera function, the HTC One M8s has a 13MP rear camera with a Duo camera arrangement, 28mm lens and f.0 aperture and the front camera has 5MP with 1080p video capture.
The HTC One M8s has a battery power of 2,840 mAh, which is higher than the 2,600 mAh offered by HTC One M8.
