Sony devices Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z3 tablet are getting an Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
Christian Today reported that the worldwide OTA rollout is expected to be already available, but will depend on the region and carrier of the users.
The Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and tablet will get an Android 5.0 Lollipop update, which will blend the firm's software with Google's new Material Design operating system.
The new features are expected to include the Android for Work app. The Android 5.0 Lollipop will also highlight better storage control, which allows the user to move apps from the internal memory of the device to the SD card.
As for the Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 tablet, the company did not mention if the said devices will have an Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Furthermore, Sony has launched a new global marketing campaign for Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact, which were unveiled at IFA Berlin in September 2014, writes Phone Arena.
According to Catherine Cherry, the Sony marketing director for Ireland, Benelux and UK, the global marketing campaign will run in different media platform such as TV, digital and billboards.
"Sony Mobile is here to say, we are absolutely going to focus on delivering profitable growth," said Cherry according to Business Insider. She added that the Sony Xperia Z3 is the "best selling smartphone ever"
Sonny's global campaign has already been launched, courtesy of advertising agency Adam&EveDDb. The emphasis of the program is on the specs of the devices. The ads contains catchy taglines such as "I can see in the dark", "I can survive underwater" or "I can stay awake for days."
Meanwhile, as the company is rolling out a new global marketing campaign for the Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact, Phone Arena speculated that the company might be sending an indirect message that the Sony Xperia Z4 might not be available yet.
