Brian Johnson, the legendary rocker for AC/DC, has thrown his support for Jeremy Clarkson as he hinted that sacking him will come back to bite BBC in the behind. Meanwhile, journalist Sarah Vine wants to take over the extremely popular "Top Gear" show.
In an interview with Benji Wilson for the Daily Telegraph, AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson was asked for his opinion about BBC firing Jeremy Clarkson from "Top Gear."
"I think they've made the wrong decision [sacking Clarkson]," he said. "I know Jeremy and I know the lads and it's [the punch] just totally out of character."
However, he shied away from suggestions that he take over "Top Gear," the show that Jeremy Clarkson left behind.
"I would never throw my hat in the ring because I'm not good enough; he's just a genius. He ain't gonna be off the screen for long," he said.
While fronting for AC/DC, Brian Johnson is also hosting the six-part series, "Cars That Rock," as he traces the history of iconic vehicles, how they are made and finally, driving the best models.
Jeremy Clarkson was sacked from "Top Gear" after he allegedly punched BBC producer Oisin Tymon at the Simonstone Hall hotel.
And police have been called into the incident, but the producer is not pressing charges.
Tymon's lawyer, Atty. Paul Daniels, said in a statement, "I have been asked to issue a statement on behalf of my client, Oisin Tymon, regarding police enquiries in this matter. Mr Tymon has informed the police that he doesn't want to press charges."
Meanwhile, journalist Sarah Vine, the wife of Michael Gove, wants to take over the helm of "Top Gear" and steer the show forward without Jeremy Clarkson.
"I know many men may baulk at the suggestion that a mere woman could take Jeremy's hallowed place," she told Express. "But I think I'm perfect for the job, and my principal qualification is entirely basic. I love cars."
