Apple CEO Tim Cook has secured a position on Time's 100 Most Influential People for 2015 for his support for human rights, environmental protection and leadership skills.

Apple Inc. chief executive, Tim Cook once again earned himself a place on Time magazine's annual list of The 100 Most Influential People for 2015.

John Lewis, a civil rights leader and Democratic Congressman from Georgia, penned Mr. Cook's description on the list. Lewis described him as a person for whom stepping into the immense shadow cast by the late Steve Jobs was never easy.

"Tim is unwavering in his support of an individual's right to privacy and is not only embracing equality and LGBT rights but advocating for change through his words and actions," he wrote.

He note that Cook's commitment to renewable energy also is helping leave the planet "a little cleaner as well as a little greener for the generations yet unborn." Plus, Mr. Cook has also pushed Apple to even higher profitability since he took over from the late Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, as the company's CEO. Lewis noted that as Apple's CEO, Mr. Cook has shown that profitability and integrity can go together.

Mr. Cook previously made TIME's list back in 2012, after he took over as Apple CEO from Steve Jobs, according to TheMacObserver.

According to AppleInsider, despite his noted support for LGBT equality and rights, Cook came under fire from conservative critics who noted that Apple continues to sell its products in countries where lesbians and gays can be imprisoned or executed.

Lewis noted that Cook has proved that "even the most successful companies can and should be judged by more than just their bottom lines."

Cook received the same honor alongside the likes of Kanye West, Lorne Michaels, Mellody Hobson, Chanda Kochhar, Kim Kardashian, and Satya Nadella.
