Good news for Nintendo fans -- the Japanese video game maker is all set to release a new bundle for the Wii U and the forthcoming bundle will be "Splatoon" related.
"Splatoon," a third-person shooter video game is meant to be a long-term franchise for Nintendo. The Japanese electronics giant announced that the bundle will be exclusive to Best Buy. The bundle is an apt choice for people who are looking to purchase a Wii U, simply because of "Splatoon," BidnessEtc noted.
In addition to other accessories for the traditional price of $299.99, the upcoming bundle will reportedly include a download code for the game "Nintendo Land," a 32GB Wii U, and the Gamepad.
According to Engadget, "Splatoon" achieves two important things for Nintendo. First of all, it breathes life into the Wii U's Zelda-less 2015 lineup and also it's a completely new IP, which should please Nintendo followers.
The wild new game from Nintendo observedly strikes a perfect balance between the creativity and family-friendly fun the Japanese video game maker is known for, with ink spraying and turf claiming action.
In the game, players take on the role of the Inklings, customizable characters that are capable of transforming into squids at the touch of a button. After splatting enemies and covering a level of colorful ink, players can convert into a squid and quickly swim through their own ink or use it to take cover and hide from enemies.
Splatoon overflows with numerous ways to play.
Nintendo claims that teams of players across the globe will enjoy the 4-on-4 online "Turf War" mode, which assigns players to cover the most ground with their team's ink while using the Wii U GamePad controller to see a top-down view of the map because it is covered in ink in real-time.
"Rank Battle," which is slated to release shortly after the launch will offer skill-based online rule sets, while in "Battle Dojo," players enjoy local 1-on-1 matches with friends.
But that's not all. Nintendo notes that "Splatoon" also features a tough single-player campaign that smartly teaches players how to climb walls, hide, leap, swim and splatter, all using ink to try to defeat the vicious Octarian army.
In addition, players can also use "Splatoon" amiibo figures which are sold separately to gain access to special challenge stages that will allow them to earn special gear, which are not found elsewhere in the game.
The Wii U Special Edition "Splatoon" Deluxe Set and "Splatoon" are set to launch in May 29.
