K-drama fans are already pretty excited about the star line-up in the upcoming drama "Producer." The cast features Gong Hyo Jin, who scores a hit with almost every drama, Hallyu star Kim Soo Hyun, singer-actress IU and popular actor Cha Tae Hyun.

But the latest casting news says that quite a few JYP Entertainment artists are also going to be doing cameos in the drama.

It has been reported that Park Jin Young, Sunmi, 2AM's Jo Kwon and 2PM's Nickhun are going to appear in an episode of "Producer." The stars were sighted on the drama's set on April 17. It is said that Park Jin Young will play himself for the drama. And that's fitting because not only is he a singer and a songwriter, but he's also a producer.

Park Jin Young made his acting debut in another drama that also starred "Producer" stars Kim Soo Hyun and IU, as well as 2PM's Ok Taecyeon and Suzy Bae. He played a teacher in a school for talented performers. For that role he received a nomination for New Actor of the Year at the Baeksang Arts Award.

Park also appeared in the sequel to "Dream High," which was called "Dream High 2." And he made his film debut in the 2011 film "Five Million Dollar Man."

As a producer on the drama, Park Jin Young's character will interact with the veteran music variety show producers played by Gong Hyo Jin and Cha Tae Hyun, the newbie producer played by Kim Soo Hyun and possibly IU, who plays a pop star princess.

But these JYP Entertainment stars are not the only ones said to be making cameo appearances in the drama. Viewers can also expect appearances from Yoon Yeo Jung, Hwang Shin Hye, Geum Bo Ra and Hyun Young in the fictional music variety show that the producers produce. Yoo Hee Yeol is also expected to appear as an emcee on the program.

It is not yet known whether the artists doing cameo performances will perform music. Or whether the variety shows the producers create will even feature performances. But the drama is guaranteed to give you some insight into what goes on backstage in a variety show.

The producer-director Seo Soo Min previously worked on the real-life variety show "1 Day, 2 Nights," so he has a unique perspective on bringing the backstage mechanics of a variety show to life. "Producer" will premiere on May 8.
