The Los Angeles Lakers had a forgettable season, but there's a silver lining in the form of a rookie point guard who received the highest praises from one of the best to put the ball on the hardwood.

According to the latest Lakers news from Los Angeles Daily News, Steve Nash has been working with Jordan Clarkson take his game to the next level during the off-season.

He said that one of the first things that the rookie needs to learn is how to create space from the defender.

"If he creates space for himself, space will open up for him to pass the ball. Then the decisions will become clearer and easier to make," the future hall of famer said.

Although Jordan Clarkson struggled during the first half of the season, after the All Star break, most of the news surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers news are profuse with praise for the rookie point guard. The 6-5 player averaged 15.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and five assists on 45.8 percent shooting.

Steve Nash noted that Jordan Clarkson possesses all the ingredients to become a very good NBA player.

"The sky's the limit. He has great size and athleticism. He can score and hit big shots. He's developing into a good playmaker," he added.

Steve Nash said, "The biggest thing about a leader is being authentic, being yourself and having pure motives. If you are there every day, working hard and trying to get better and lay it on the line every night, that's leadership."
