Double Fine Productions has released the launch trailer for "Broken Age: The Complete Adventure."

Slated to release in North America on Tuesday and in Europe on Wednesday, the complete adventure of Broken Age on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita was given a launch trailer on April 27.

The trailer helps explain the stories of the two main characters, Vella Tartine and Shay Volta, according to PlayStationLifestyle.

According to the description for "Broken Age," the game is a timeless coming-of-age story of barfing trees and talking spoons. Vella Tartine and Shay Volta are two teenagers in strangely similar situations, but in entirely different worlds. The players can easily switch between their stories, helping them take control of their own lives and deal with the unexpected adventures that follow.

The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed to a terrible monster; however, she decides to fight back, according to BrokenAgeGame.

Meanwhile, the boy lives a solitary life on a spaceship under the care of a motherly computer and wants to break free to lead adventures and do good in the world.

The game is currently being developed in twp acts. The first act was released on January 28 last year while the second was slated for release on April 28.

A retail version for Linux, OS X, and Windows published by Nordic Games is set to release near the same time.

"Broken Age" is the first graphic adventure by Tim Schafer in 16 years and it began two years ago in a historic, record-breaking Kickstarter campaign.

Featuring cross-sales and cross-buy, Double Fine confirmed on Twitter that Broken Age costs $24.99. PlayStation Plus members will receive a 30 percent discount during launch week.

Broken Age began under the working title "Double Fine Adventure" as a Kickstarter crowd funded project promoted by Double Fine and 2 Player Productions in Feb. 2012.
