The dynamic screenwriting team, the Hong Sisters, are poised to deliver their latest hit "Warm and Cozy." "Warm and Cozy," which is also known as "Jeju Island Gatsby," stars Kang So Ra (Misaeng) and Yoo Yeon Seok (Reply 1994).
Kang So Ra portrays Lee Jung Joo, a hardworking career woman who sequentially loses her job, boyfriend and house. Desperate for a change of pace, she relocates to Jeju Island. When she arrives in Jeju, she meets Baek Geon Woo, the owner of a cafe called Warm and Cozy.
Yoo Yeon Seok, who portrayed Chilbong in "Reply 1994," is Baek Geon Woo. Geon Woo is a hopeless romantic who is unable to lie. His bohemian spirit led him to Jeju Island, when he doggedly pursued his crush who relocated.
Directed by Park Hong Kyun, "Warm and Cozy" is set on the picturesque shores of Jeju Island.
The series is an adaptation of the tale of "The Ant and the Grasshopper." "The Ant and the Grasshopper" is one of Aesop's Fables which reflects on the benefits of hard work and perseverance.
"Warm and Cozy" premieres on MBC on May 13. The show will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the 10 p.m. KST time slot previously occupied by "Angry Mom." "Warm and Cozy" will air with English subtitles on Dramafever under the title, "Jeju Island Gatsby," with episodes beginning on May 13.
The highly anticipated docu-drama, "Producer" will premiere on May 15. "Producer" stars Cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyo Jin, Kim Soo Hyun and IU. On May 8, the KBS released the teaser for the first episode of the series.
Kim Soo Hyun abandons the competent and assured aura he exuded in "My Love from the Star" to embrace the hapless traits of Baek Seung Chan, a rookie producer-director. In the teaser, he is admonished by his veteran co-workers and has a run in with IU.
IU portrays Cindy, a former child star who becomes a disenchanted K-pop idol. On May 9, KBS released photo teasers which depict Cindy, as she is waiting for her performance on "Music Bank."
The teaser photos also feature Park Hyuk Kwon (Unkind Women), who portrays Kim Tae Ho, the central producer.
Gong Hyo Jin and Cha Tae Hyun portray veteran producers who each have 10 years of experience in the variety show sector.
"Producer" will premiere on May 15. The show will air Fridays and Saturdays in the 9:15 p.m. KST time slot. "Producer" will air with English subtitles on Dramafever, with episodes beginning on May 15.
