Remember how, at the end of last week's episodes, we were all filled with that horrible sense of dread, as we were certain Cho Rim was mere seconds away from becoming the Barcode Killer's next victim? Yeah, well that that feeling and multiply it by a thousand and that pretty well sums up what it's like to watch these next two episodes. I swear, this drama's gonna give me a heart attack well before we reach the last episode but at least I'll be entertained before I go! (Hey, there's always a bright side to everything!)

So picking up where we left off last week, with Cho Rim reading the letter written to her by Dr. Chun while Jae Hee snuck up behind her, it seemed as if her true identity was about to be revealed to the one person on the planet who should never be privy to such valuable information. Lucky for us, Cho Rim is pretty quick on her feet and she came up with a brilliant explanation as to why she was putzing about in Jae Hee's library. Even more fortunate was the fact that Jae Hee bought her story and let her go about her work without any further questions. The problem is, this one narrow escape was only the beginning of a multitude of equally narrow escapes to follow and to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure how much more of these close calls I can take! Cho Rim has been an incredibly lucky girl up to this point, escaping the clutches of a serial killer on more than one occasion, but I have a feeling her luck won't hold forever. Not even when she has a valiant knight like Moo Gak, always coming to her rescue.

While I understand why Cho Rim has volunteered to take part in this investigation, turning herself into a spy in order to gather much needed evidence against Jae Hee, I can't say I'm happy about it. I don't like having my heroine constantly finding herself in danger and it's not just because I feel like my heart it going to explode on a regular basis. (Though I can't say that's really all that pleasant of a feeling...) What bothers me the most about Cho Rim's involvement in this investigation, is the fact that she's forcing Moo Gak into a rather painful situation, asking him to let her help despite the fact her involvement could very well bring about her death. (Not that we want things to go that way but let's face it, she's essentially taking on a serial killer by herself... That's not exactly something a person can do safely.) I don't think Cho Rim has ever bothered to consider things from Moo Gak's point of view and that upsets me a little. This poor man is alone in the world, having lost his most precious sister to Jae Hee three years ago. Now he's being forced to let Cho Rim, the only person in he world he has left, walk into the clutches of a monster with nothing but a panic button hanging around her neck. Call me crazy but this isn't something Moo Gak can be okay with and it kills me to watch him suffer so much on Cho Rim's behalf.

Of course, I understand that Moo Gak is willing to let Cho Rim help because in doing so, she'll be able to find the healing and closure she needs to put all of this behind her and move on but that doesn't make the whole process an easy one. Both Moo Gak and Cho Rim have a lot of issues they're working through and I like that they're helping each other overcome the pain of the past. Cho Rim is slowly helping Moo Gak to see there's more to this life than seeking revenge and more importantly, she's helping him to see that murdering a murder isn't going to solve a thing. I had to cheer for Moo Gak when he opted to holster his gun, rather than take out Jae Hee on the spot. It took a lot of strength to walk away and I love that Moo Gak is showing us just how strong he really is. What's even better is the fact that this demonstration of strength is not only showing in his moments with Jae Hee but in his relationship with Cho Rim as well. After learning the truth about Cho Rim and the part she played in his sister's death, Moo Gak needed a bit of time to process things but even as he worked through his own feelings, he never once blamed Cho Rim for his sister's death. He certainly had every right to be angry with the hand Fate had dealt him but instead of blaming Cho Rim and pushing her away, he ran to her with arms open wide. Yes, it took him a day to get there but no one can blame him for needing some time to think, especially not when that day of thinking brought about such adorable results.

It never ceases to amaze me, how this show manages to combine such intense moments of terror with such adorably sweet moments of cuteness. It's such a crazy mix of light and dark and yet it all works so well together. I guess it's because the moments when Cho Rim's about two seconds from death make the moments she has with Moo Gak that much sweeter. (Though probably only because you have this never-ending fear that the next time she's with Jae Hee, she won't be so lucky, so you treasure what cute moments you get.) When it comes to Moo Gak and Cho Rim, there's so much to love but what really got to me this week was how freely Moo Gak admitted his feelings for Cho Rim. There was no beating about the bush this week. It seems once Moo Gak thought things over, and worked through is feelings in regards to Cho Rim and his sister's death, he decided Cho Rim really is the girl for him and that kinda just settled thins for him. I guess when Moo Gak decides he loves someone, he loves them for forever and he's so cute in the way he asks Cho Rim to go with him when he returns to Jeju Island, once all this insanity is behind them. I know Cho Rim didn't really give Moo Gak an answer then but I have a feeling these two are going to be quite happy together in the future. As long as Cho Rim doesn't become the next Barcode Victim, that is.

Now that Jae Hee knows there's a witness and that that witness is Oh Jae Pyo's daughter, it's only a matter of time before he realizes Cho Rim is the girl he's looking for. Of course he's going to figure that out a whole lot faster if Cho Rim isn't more careful around him. I know Cho Rim is trying to do her part and I know that she's not an experienced detective but good grief! Does she have to cut things so very close every flipping time she's around Jae Hee? Jae Hee is a smart man. Too smart, actually. And it's not going to take him long to put two and two together. There are only a handful of people who have access to his house and even fewer who are allowed into his library. That means there could only be a few who might have planted that camera book in his house and having Cho Rim show up just at such a volatile moment is so not good. Even with the excuse of retrieving her wallet, Cho Rim doesn't have enough of a reason to be found wandering Jae Hee's house and she certainly has no reason to be in his library. The question is, will Cho Rim say something to Jae Hee and brush their meeting off with some sort of quickly contrived excuse or will she remain silent and hope Moo Gak comes to her rescue? Either way, things don't look good for Cho Rim and I'm terrified to find out what happens next.

So tell me, where do you see things going from here? Do you think Cho Rim's luck will hold and she'll be able to weasel her way out of this latest run-in with Jae Hee or is she pretty much toast? If she does escape this time, how much longer do you think her luck will hold? How long do you think it's going to take for Jae Hee to realize Cho Rim is the girl he's looking for? What do you think will happen then? Will he go after her right away or will her hunt down her friends and family first? Oh Jae Pyo was about half a second away from being the next victim. Do you think Jae Hee will let him go or will he hunt him down as he continues to search for Cho Rim? There's certainly a lot of story left and at this point, anything's possible so what do you think is going to happen next? You know I always love hearing from you so be sure to let me know what you're thinking by leaving me a comment below!
