In collaboration with Asus, tech giant Google has launched Chromebox, aimed for enterprises, the all new Chromebox will cost Rs. 90,000.

A Chromebox is basically a PC that runs Google's Chrome OS, and is the desktop alternative of the Chromebook laptop. Targeted at the education sector, Chromebox empowers organization to run and manage HD video meetings, thus creating a virtual conference room.

Google teamed up with Asus to manufacture the Chromebox. The Web giant also has Chromebox devices from other OEMs as well in the global markets, The Indian Express noted.

The Asus Chromebox packs a 4th generation Intel Core i7 4600U processor, an HDMI and DisplayPort++ along with four USB 3.0 ports. The Asus Chromebox also feature an Ethernet slot,

Asus Chromebox offers a full video conference solution including Full HD 1080p video camera, a combined microphone, speaker unit and a remote control. But that's not all, Asus Chromebox also allows initiating conferencing simply with one click to share screen, documents wirelessly. It features an Intel HD Graphics 4400 and 4GB RAM.

As far as the connectivity is concerned, it comes with built-in dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, 2-in-1 card reader, HDMI, RJ45 LAN, DC-in port, display port and audio jack, according to records on First Post.

Despite offering astonishing features, using the Chromebox is child's play. Users simply need to click the remote to instantly log on their meetings without them having to dial codes. Moreover, the laptop screen can be shared wirelessly with a universal shortURL.

The search engine giant Google says that up to 15 participants can join the video meeting from other conference rooms on their smartphones, tablets or laptops through the Gmail account.

Companies can also connect to rooms that have conventional video conferencing system with Vidyo.

SRTP is used to encrypt voice and video traffic; SSL is used to encrypt management traffic. Chormeboxes are designed to get automated updates.
