Alicia Vikander, the 26-year-old girlfriend of "Prometheus 2" actor Michael Fassbender, could be Hollywood's next "It" girl as she graced the red carpet event at the Cannes Film Festival along with "Game of Thrones" cast Kit Harrington.

According to the Daily Beast, Alicia Vikander managed to stand out in the crowd at the red carpet, which is no small feat considering all the celebrities attending the event.

"All eyes were on a sylphlike Swedish beauty as she glided down the boundless red carpet in a Valentino Couture silver velvet gown. With nary a film there, and boyfriend Michael Fassbender in tow, the 26-year-old ex-ballerina was nonetheless the most in-demand actress at Cannes," it said.

Michael Fassbender's girlfriend made heads turn with her portrayal of the sentient android Ava in "Ex Machina."

Talking to USA Today, Alicia Vikander described Ava as a piece of art.

"Even though it weirdly comes down to mesh, wires and iron, when it all comes together, it looks very beautiful," she said. "The stillness of how she moves and sits down and doesn't blink, those kinds of things made her feel more robotic, because humans are more inconsistent and have more flaws."

In the movie, her background in dance gave her an advantage in trying to conceptualize the Ava's movements.

The Daily Beast noted that Alicia Vikander might even be busier than boyfriend Michael Fassbender with five films that are expected to be shown this year, aside from being the face of Louis Vuitton.

Aside from "The Man from U.N.C.L.E" opposite "Batman V Superman" actor Henry Cavill, she will also be seen in "Testament of Youth," "Tulip Fever, "The Danish Girl" opposite Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne and "The Light Between Oceans" which will see Alicia Vikander work with boyfriend Michael Fassbender, who will also be seen in Ridley Scott's "Prometheus 2."
