Speculations of Zayn Malik returning to One Direction freaked out 1D fans, with the hashtag #ZaynIsComingBack trending on Twitter and supporters exchanging views on whether it is the right decision or not.
Though Zayn Malik's camp is yet to issue a statement to clarify once and for all whether he is indeed coming back to One Direction, there have been rumors that the singer wouldn't be reuniting with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson anytime soon. Someone is reportedly doing everything to keep that from happening and that someone is no one else but Zayn Malik himself.
Despite Zayn Malik having an open invitation to come back to 1D, an insider reportedly told Hollywood Life that the singer would do everything in his power to have a successful career outside One Direction.
"Zayn wants to go solo, so he can try and fly under the radar and not have the pressures of being in the world's biggest pop group," the source spilled. "Zayn won't return to 1D, and certainly not before he can prove to himself and the doubters that he can forge a successful career on his own."
In fact, all the buzz about him possibly reuniting with his former band mates is purportedly not sitting well with the singer. "Zayn is a little miffed that everyone believes he's going to end up back with 1D," a source said. "The speculation bothers him. He left the group because he couldn't handle the high-profile that came with the band in the end, and he wants to get away from all that."
Zayn Malik is allegedly working overtime to build a solo career after leaving One Direction, leaving him fatigued. "His family and friends are a little concerned that he's pushing himself too hard," Hollywood Life's source claimed. "After all, his mental collapse and stress was work-related, and he was advised to take a much-longer break. They've told him not to work so hard, but he wants to strike while the iron's still hot and deliver his fans new material."
