"Pirates of the Caribbean" star Johnny Depp has put the final nail on the coffin on her marriage to Vanessa Paradis by selling off his estate in the South of France for $25.4 million.
The reason why the estate is so expensive was because it's actually a small village that he bought for his former wife, Vanessa Paradis, and which he was putting on the market prior to his wedding with Amber Heard.
"The Pirates of the Caribbean star's decision to sell the home he spent 14 years and millions of pounds to restore, comes just four months after Depp married Amber Heard, 23 years his junior," Daily Mail said.
"And it seems he has decided to leave the memories of his past life behind as well, as the sprawling 37-acre property is being sold fully furnished, with DVDs still filling the bookshelves," the article added.
The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star bought the 200-year-old hamlet and painstakingly restored it. It was reported that he designed most of the rooms.
Alexander Kraft, chairman and CEO of Sotheby's International Realty France, told Wall Street Journal, that the estate that Johnny Depp bought for his former wife, Vanessa Paradis, is nestled on a 37-acre expanse.
He explained, "The estate centers around a village square, with a church that Mr. Depp converted into a guest house; a former confessional is now a wardrobe. There's also a restaurant with a full professional kitchen, which Mr. Depp used as 'basically the dining room,'" Kraft said.
Johnny Depp married Amber Heard in February this year amid rumors that he feuded with ex Vanessa Paradis because he refused to sign a prenup with the "Magic Mike XXL" actress. The former model allegedly wanted to protect their children, Lily-Rose and Jack, and make sure they are part of his $300 million fortune.
