It's about time someone showed up to counter NXT champion Kevin Owens and WWE may be soon calling up "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe to the main roster to do exactly that.

Samoa Joe had made a huge statement when he made his much-anticipated debut on NXT, and his rivalry with the NXT champion, Kevin Owens. This feud with Owens will get "The Samoan Submission Machine" called up to the main roster very soon.

Strong rumors doing rounds hinted that Joe will be working for the WWE main roster full time directly or if he starts in NXT, he will be quickly shifted to the WWE main roster.

Owens, who is become the bully of NXT after he turned on his best friend in Sami Zayn at R Evolution was practically unstoppable until Joe came in to counter him. Just like Owens, Joe likes to fight and he is capable of beating him in his own game. Basically, Joe is the perfect opponent for Owens, StrictlySports noted.

Joe is not a flashy guy; he is a brawler that can fight many hard-fought matches in the square circle. The only way to beat the NXT champion, Owens is to brawl with him and Joe can do exactly that as he has shown in several promotions including ROH and Impact Wrestling. However, Owens is not just an NXT Superstar, he's a Superstar on the main roster as a result of his feud with John Cena, which is giving him a push within the WWE by giving him exposure on RAW and SmackDown.

Samoa Joe's journey is quite similar to Daniel Bryan's journey to the WWE. Both Bryan and Joe were huge independent stars around the world. The WWE Universe and several diehard wrestling fans want to see Joe on the main roster.

Kevin Owens on the other hand gets major heat every time he is on TV, and despite the fact that he is very popular with some fans, he is a hated heel.

Joe making the save for Cena or any other Superstar for that matter would be huge for him. The commentators would be saying his name, talking about his career and most importantly the threat he poses to Owens. WWE fans that probably are not familiar with Joe's work would finally see him in action, Bleacher Report noted.

No prizes for guessing, of all the stars in NXT, Joe is probably best suited for fame right now. He was a leading talent in TNA as well as Ring of Honor and is used to tedious weekly job of episodic television.

That being said, Joe is not a young star anymore and if he is slated to make a splash on the main roster, it needs to be soon.

The volatile feud between Joe and Owens will eventually spill outside NXT soon, and it's only a matter of time until the fight comes to the masses, and that implies Joe will make it to WWE's main programming sooner rather than later.
