So many viewers of last year's cable drama "Special Affairs Team TEN," a "10 our of 10" that gritty crime series will return for a second season.
The stylish criminal investigation drama focuses on a crime unit called TEN that solves cases so violent they usually only have a 10 percent success rate. The team's motto is "no unsolved cases," but that means they often have to use some unconventional methods to catch the bad guys. And they occasionally have to break some rules.
All the cast members in the show's original series wanted to return for a second season because of their affection for the show. So, the sequel will again star Joo Sang Wook as dogged detective Yeo Ji Hoon. While Yeo Ji Hoon's crime-fighting methods have caused others to call him "a monster who catches monsters," he also cautions his team to treat criminals as human beings.
Before appearing in the first season of "TEN," Joo acted in the saga "Giant" and the MBC drama "Feast of the Gods."
Also appearing in the second season is Choi Woo Shik as Park Min Ho, a rookie detective with a strong sense of justice. As the rookie, he is assigned to do most of the team's legwork. Coi Woo Shik appeared in the dramas "Family" and "Rooftop Prince."
Jo An will appear as the profiler Nam Ye Ri, a woman who manages to remain optimistic despite a difficult past. The actress previously appeared int he dramas "King Gwanggaeto The Great" and "Three Sisters." A mystery surrounding the character Nam Ye Ri, is where the new season begins but fans hope that the first episode will also answer some of the questions left unanswered by Season 1's cliffhanger ending.
Also on board is Kim Sang Ho as Baek Do Sik. Kim Sang Ho previously appeared in "City Hunter" and "Prosecutor Princess."
Lee Seung Young is back to direct, having directed the previous season of "TEN," as well as "Chosun Police." Writer Nam Sang Wook has also returned for the second season.
The OCN drama won a 2012 Cable TV Award from the Korean Cable TV Association for its plot composition and striking cinematography. That acclaim, combined with the fact that the first season ended on a cliffhanger, means that fans are not surprised it will return for a second season.
"Special Affairs Team TEN Season 2" will premiere on April 14th, 2013.
