Bollywood Star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Filming A Remake Of K-Movie 'Seven Days'

One of India's biggest stars, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is currently filming a remake of the 2007 Korean hit film "Seven Days."

The film "Jazbaa" or "Passion" stars the actress as well as Irrfan Khan and Shabana Azmi in supporting roles.

The original film starred Korean-American actress Yun Jin Kim and Korean actor Park Hee Soon. Yun Jin Kim has acted in Korean films and dramas. She also played a main character in the American TV series "Lost" and "Mistresses," and has been instrumental in trying to adapt Korean dramas for American TV. Park Hee Soon recently appeared in the dramas "Missing Noir M" and "All About My Romance."

In the original film, "Seven Days," Yun Jin Kim played a lawyer who never lost a case. While she is participating in field day activities at her daughter's school, the child disappears.

Later that day the character gets a phone call from her daughter's kidnaper sayign that he does not want money. To get her daughter back, she must defend a five-time convicted felon who is appealing his conviction. The trial ends in seven days. She has seven days to prove his innocence or her daughter dies.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play the role previously taken by Yun Jin Kim. There has been no word on how the Bollywood version will differ from the Korean one.

Rai Bachchan is one of India's most high-profile celebrities. Besides being a former "Miss World" winner, she has appeared in dozens of films, and is married to popular Indian actor Abhishek Bachchan. The new film is considered a comeback role for her.

"Jazbaa" began filming in Feburary and is due to be released on October 2015. If you're a fan of Bollywood films and k-movies, you may want to see both to compare.
