53-year-old Korean drama actress Han Kyung Sun died on July 4. According to a report published by Chosun, the actress perished from a cerebral hemorrhage due to complications caused by a stroke.
The actress, who appeared in several K-Drama supporting roles, was filming the MBC weekday series, "The Great Wives."
On June 30, she was taken to Seoul St. Mary's Hospital after she collapsed after a cast dinner, which was held after a day of filming.
The article published Chosun noted that the actress regained briefly regained consciousness on July 1 before her health took a turn for the worst.
A representative for St. Mary's Hospital confirmed her death. "Actress Han Kyung Sun, who was in an unconscious state for four days, died at midnight at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital," said the hospital spokesperson.
Her time of death was ruled at 12 a.m. KST on July 4. The representative confirmed that she died peacefully, within the presence of family and friends.
Han participated in a 1983 KBS talent search, before appearing in several supporting characters. Her roles included Jang Geum Hee the drama, "Ruby Ring," as well as characters in "Giant," and "Cuckoo's Nest."
Funeral services for the actress will be held at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital.
