Lee Min Ho and Moon Chae Won will receive top honors at the Buchon International Film Festival (BiFan).
In recognition of their achievements, the actors will be honored with the Producers' Choice Award. BiFan and the Korean Film Producers Association chose the nominees for their acting ability and also their role in promoting the Hallyu.
Lee Min Ho starred in his first film this year, appearing in noir gangster film "Gangnam Blues," but before that he already acquired a solid resume in k-dramas, appearing in "Boys Over Flowers, "City Hunter," "Personal Taste," "Faith: The Great Doctor" and "The Heirs."
Moon Chae Won will also be honored for her work in films and dramas, with her most recent film being the romantic comedy "Love Forecast" which co-stars Lee Seung Gi. She's had roles in several dramas including "My Fair Lady," "The Princess' Man," "Nice Guy" and most recently "Good Doctor" with co-star Joo Won.
Lee and Moon are old friends as they previously modeled together and were both named honorary celebrity prosecutors in 2012 based on their popularity and righteous roles in "City Hunter" and "The Princess' Man."
By winning this award, Lee follows in the footsteps of previous winners Lee Byung Hun and Ha Jung Woo. Actresses that previously won the award include Jun Ji Hyun and Son Ye Jin.
Fantasia Awards will be presented to actors Jung Woo, who recently appeared in the musical biopic "C'est Si Bon," and actress Kim Go Eun, for her role in the hit film "Coin Locker Girl." Both actors previously won Baeksang Arts Awards.
Actor Oh Dal Su will receive the It Star Award for his role in "Ode to My Father." Oh also appeared in the films "The Thieves," "The Attorney" and "Miracle in "Cell #7."
The 19th BiFan festival runs from July 16 through July 26 in Bucheon, Gyeonggi. The annual festival focuses on Korean and international horror, thriller, mystery and fantasy films. It has grown dramatically since it began, now featuring animation, cartoon, games as well as films.
