The Angry Birds game has finally got a sequel and its slated to come on July 30.

After Angry Birds was first released for Apple iOS in Dec. 2009, it has revolutionized the mobile gaming market. Developer Rovio Entertainment has since released several off-shoots, follow-up games as well as bits of retail merchandise.

But that's not all; Rovio is also working on an animated film due in theaters next April, starring Peter Dinklage and Maya Rudolph.

Now, Angry Birds 2 is officially on its way.

According to records on Engadget, the sequel is slated to hit app stores worldwide on July 30, and the game will reportedly still feature exploding crates, an assemblage of pigs and some very upset birds.

Though the developer did not mention which app stores Angry Birds 2 is coming to, it's safe to anticipate a fairly comprehensive, simultaneous launch across iOS, Android, Amazon and Windows app stores. Another announcement came in promotional poster that noted that further details on Angry Birds 2 will be revealed in an event on July 28 in San Francisco.

"All of us here at Rovio can't wait to show our fans what we've been cooking up! We're SUPER excited. Follow Angry Birds on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine and YouTube during the next couple weeks and you'll see something a little piggy is going on...," the announcement by Rovio reads.

Rovio recently teased the sequel claiming it will be "bigger, baddier and birdier."

Besides landing on all mobile platforms, Angry Birds quickly gained popularity on iOS followed by Android, Windows and PC version. The hit game was also extended to different franchises such as Star Wars", Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Stella, FranchiseHerald noted.

Fans can pre-sign on the Angry Birds 2 website. As soon as the game starts to roll out, Rovio will email the players.
