UFC fans who want to see UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson defend his title against challenger John Dodson personally, can get the tickets for the UFC 191 pay-per-view event starting July 31.
The UFC 191 pay-per-view mixed martial arts event is slated to take place on Sept. 5 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas.
Even before the tickets, with prices ranging from $78-$603, were available for public consumption, UFC Fight Club members and UFC Newsletter subscribers got first dibs as a result of two separate pre-sales.
While pre-sale for UFC Fight Club began on July 29, pre-sale for subscribers to the UFC Newsletter concluded on July 30, per MMA Mania.
The UFC 191 card features the much-awaited Johnson vs. Dodson 2 bout as the UFC's reigning flyweight champion; "Mighty Mouse" defends his title against John Dodson.
The 5'3" tall, Johnson may be the shortest fighter in the UFC but with an impressive record of 22-2-1 MMA, 10-1-1 UFC, he is ranked No. 1 in the USA Sports/MMA Junkie MMA Flyweight rankings. Dodson, who is ranked No. 2 is not too far behind with 17-6 MMA, 6-1 UFC record.
According to records on FightLine, If Johnson manages to beat Dodson; this will be his seventh successive title defense. Dodson on the other hand has won three consecutive matches in a row.
However, if Johnson gains the upper hand at UFC 191, that would put him in a tie for third on the all-time list behind "The Spider" Anderson Silva and the former three-time UFC welterweight champion, Georges St-Pierre, as far as successful title defenses are concerned.
Besides Johnson Vs Dodson 2 for flyweight title, the latest UFC 191 card includes:
Female Strawweight: Alex Chambers vs. Paige VanZant
Light Heavyweight: Jan Blachowicz vs. Anthony Johnson
Bantamweight: John Lineker vs. Francisco Rivera
Lightweight: Nazareno Malegarie vs. Joaquim Silva
