Joo Won and Kim Tae Hee attended the press conference for their upcoming drama "Yong Pal Ie" on June 30 and Joo Won had nothing but good things to say about his co-star.

He said he was excited to work with her.

"When I heard Tae Hee noona was my partner, I was more excited than anyone."

Joo Won has had some impressive co-stars, including Moon Chae Won in "Good Doctor," Choi Kang Hee in "Level 7 Civil Servant" and Jin Se Yeon in "Bridal Mask."

But he regarded Kim Tae Hee as such a prize co-star, he could not contain his enthusiasm.

"It's the same with my role, but all of the roles are subject to the candidates. Among them, I pushed for Tae Hee noona, saying she'd be good. If you're a man, wouldn't you obviously think working with Tae Hee noona would be great."

So many men, including quite a few celebrities, have picked Kim Tae Hee as their ideal girl. Her fans include SHINee's Minho, CNBLUE's Kang Minhyuk, BEAST's Son Dong Woon, actor Song Seung Hoon and obviously her boyfriend, singer-actor Rain.

While Joo Won might have admired her before, he liked her even more after working with her.

"I think I fell for noona more at the first script reading. I thought, 'how could someone with her looks also have such a good personality?' There's beauty in personality as well. The more I see her, the prettier I think she is and I think I will have fun working with her."

In the SBS melodrama "Yong Pal Ie," he plays a doctor who is driven to lower his standards as the result of the debt he has incurred caring for his sick sister."

Kim Tae Hee plays an heiress who is in a coma in his hospital.

At the press conference Kim spoke about her acting skills. In the past not everyone praised her as highly as Joo Won did at the press conference.

She confessed that in the past the perception of her ability might have suffered because she lacked confidence.

"I ended up debuting and acting without being able to prepare a lot," she said in the Korean media outlet Naver TV. "Because of this I showed vulnerability. I think this is why viewers developed a prejudice concerning my acting. I have been making efforts until now but will continue to work hard to improve in the future."

Kim said that she saw "Yong Pal Ie" as an opportunity to grow.

"Yong Pal Ie" will air its first episode on August 5.
