Johnny Depp's fans are already itching to watch his new movie, "Black Mass."

The actor plays the role of notorious real-life Boston mobster Whitey Bulger in the new movie, and Johnny Depp is unrecognizable in his portrayal. The first poster for the film was reportedly released on July 29, which excited fans even more.

"Johnny, you're giving us the chills!" Julianne Ishler wrote in her Hollywood Life report. "The poster shows the actor with his arms crossed standing in front of the Boston skyline, giving a fierce and murderous stare deep into our souls. He looks almost identical to Whitey, sporting thinning grey hair and freckled skin. While he wears sunglasses in the poster, Johnny wears ice blue contacts in the film to resemble the convicted murderer even more."

The first trailer for Johnny Depp's new movie was released in April.

The trailer shows Johnny doing a great job at portraying Whitey - a leader of a violent gang in Boston and brother of a state senator. Whitney colluded with the FBI for many years, using the information to crush his rival gangs.

In 2013, Whitey Bulger was convicted on 11 counts of murder. This may sound like a lot but the notorious mobster is purportedly believed to be responsible for way more. The real Whitey is now 85 years old, and is presently serving two life terms plus five years in Florida .

Aside from Johnny Depp, the movie also stars Dakota Johnson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kevin Bacon,Corey Stoll, Adam Scott, Juno Temple and Joel Edgerton.

The movie is directed by Scott Cooper. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie is reportedly based on the book "Black Mass: The True Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob by Dick Lehr and Gerard O'Neill."

Johnny Depp's new movie hits theaters Sept. 18.
