"Yong Pal" continued to record strong ratings with its third episode, which aired on August 12. According to the August 13 Nielsen Korea report, the SBS series "Yong Pal" recorded 14.5 percent of nationwide viewers, an increase of 0.4 percent.
The third episode of the medical action series led surgeon Kim Tae Hyun (Joo Won) deeper into the corrupt menagerie of the VIP section of the twelfth floor of the hospital, where he served his internship. His meteoric rise towards the top is stunning to his fellow interns and the physician who mentored him. However, Tae Hyun remains focused on earning money to help save his ailing sister and relinquished control of his work at the hospital to Chief Surgeon Lee.
During the course of the episode, he unwittingly encounters Han Yeo Jin (Kim Tae Hee), the young heiress who subsists in a chemically-induced coma. He prevents Yeo Jin from slitting her throat when she awakens from her unnatural slumber. However, he does not realize that she is the woman who is referred to as the princess of the twelfth floor, until the end of the episode.
"Yong Pal" will air 20-episodes through October 8. The drama airs on SBS on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the 9:55 p.m. KST time slot.
The MBC supernatural period drama, "Scholar Who Walks the Night" recorded 6.9 percent of nationwide viewership. Episode 11 of the series marked the turning point in the relationship between Kim Seung Yeol (Lee Joon Gi) and Jo Yang Sun (Lee Yoo Bi).
"Assembly," the KBS2 political drama recorded 5.9 percent in viewership.
